Description
I rode in a 1958 Bonneville Sport Coupe in Arcadia, California in 1958. I wanted one from that moment on. I found mine in 1990 at Lake Elsinore, California in pieces. It was in bad shape with a lot of rust and missing a lot of parts. There were only 9,144 Pontiac Sport Coupes made in 1958 so finding parts was difficult. The restoration to original new condition took 10 years and was completed in 2000. I have only driven it 800 miles since then. Bonny58 is Mallard and Marlin turquoise. She has a 370ci engine, 4 barrel carburetor, automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes and am radio. Having this beautiful restored car is the realization of a 42 year dream. Having it is its' own reward.

I had a '58 Bonneville, the same color. I loved that car! Coincidentally, I lived in Rosemead (not far from Arcadia), and my grandparents lived at Lake Elsinore. I used to race my Bonneville (San Gabriel, Alhambra and Pasadena areas), and never lost a race. What a car!!!! Yours is absolutely beautiful. Congratulations on your win, and for a terrific restoration job!!

I echo your comments Paul- now we can get on with the rest of our lives
=-).
I do feel this is likely the most impressive car in this show. It's obvious that you put a great deal of time and effort into this gorgeous vehicle. I feel that's what car shows are all about - recognizing blood and sweat - and I'd be honored if you win the grand prize; my grandfather always drove Pontiacs, and I have a soft spot for them. Sorry about that blowing your doors off thing, I really think my brother and his buddies had something to do with that - but he's not talking -
Best of luck in the finals! Thor

Hi Paul, Congrats! It's Linda, Claudia's friend! I told all my friends to look at your car. I'm glad you won. Good luck at the finals. Maybe someday I can fix up my 68 Mustang. I would be glad if it were half as good as these cars!
