1987 Buick Regal Turbo T 0 0

Description
In the 80’s there came a new player to the street scene. It was made by Buick which was known more for luxury than performance. This all changed with the introduction of the Turbo Regals and by the final year of their production in 1987 a performance legend had been made. The 1987 Turbo Regals were the muscle car perfected but what made them even better was that they were and still are to many a lion in sheep’s clothing. With the exception of the GNX which had some styling changes, the Turbo Regals were unassuming in appearance and only the bulge on the hood gave an indication of what they were really capable of. Buick used the best technology of the era combined with the jet engine hiss of a turbocharger to make a car that made big block power from a 231 CI V6. Unlike its big block predecessors this car could sit and idle in traffic on a scorching hot summer day with the AC on and never overheat all while getting around 24 mpg on the highway. These cars with the little engine that could had a 0 to 60 time of 4.9 sec. which put it in the same league as the supercars of the era but at a fraction of the price. At the drag strip, the turbo V6 could rip off 13 sec. runs in its stock form and with minimal modifications run in the 12’s. This is my 87 Regal Turbo T which is one of the rarer versions of the Turbo Regals only 1,547 were produced. The car has too many mods to list them all but a few include a roller valve train, ported heads, 3” downpipe, and T-66 ball bearing turbocharger. It can be driven anywhere including the drag strip where it can make 10 sec. quarter mile passes and then driven back home in comfort. This is the car I’ve always wanted and I’m a very proud owner. Buick’s motto for these cars was “Going Fast With Class” but I think what I saw on the vanity plate of a GM mechanics GN was better it simply said GM’s Best.

Very cool car - there wasn't much to pick from in the 80's - I think you've got the cream of the crop, and you've done some nice work on it.

We should race sometime =-)
