Description
This is an original 1970 Charger R/T SE. There were a little over 1400 models with the Special Edition added. This particular model was ordered with cruise control, power windows, rear window defroster, A/C, power disc brakes, AM 8-track, high impact color (plum crazy purple) and the SE package automatically included leather interior. The #’s matching drivetrain is currently in retirement in the garage. A crate 472 HEMI was installed producing 550 horsepower and 540 ft. lbs. of torque. A hidden MSD 6al unit and vacuum pump to assist the brakes is under the battery tray. 2 ¼” tti headers are dumped into 3” tti H-pipe to the rear. A transmission was rebuilt with Hemi internals and a stage II shift kit to compliment the Gear Vendors 6 speed Overdrive, it make’s cruisin’ down the freeway a breeze when you can run the fast lane. About 8 years ago I met the owner of my car via the internet and we went on a trip to Seattle. I always loved purple ’70 Chargers and his car was my dream car. We stayed in contact with me always asking if the car was for sale when we talked. Then about 3 years ago he returned an email stating he was thinking about selling. I couldn’t type fast enough with a response. I had become paralyzed since we first met and couldn’t drive my 4 gear Charger R/T that had been near and dear to my heart anymore so getting this car was a dream come true. I think he knew it was going to a good home. There’s nothing but Texaco Power Premium with Techron run in this bad boy.

RT- Great ride. I'm tickled 3 of the top five were Mopars. Hope to see it sometime.

Congats - my other "hot rod" is a '68 Charger that I'm real fond of - 383 Mag, soon to have a 440. (blue w/white top) I'm always glad to see a Mopar getting some recognition. You have a real special find, and the last year of a Great body.
Best of luck in the finals.

MOPOWER! Congratulations on your win and a hot ride! You've been a great inspiration for my nephew and his first car a 1968 Charger that he picked up this past spring. Enjoy the cruise!
